so after handling SPS corals i always get that slim on my fingers. I can wash it off but the nasty smell just stays.

I've tried washing with:

Soap
Orange soap with the sand things in it
Vinegar
Dish Soap
Body wash

and nothing can get this smell off my fingers.

anyone got anything else?

White toothpaste works, it's gritty and helps scrub it off.

Fast orange hand scrub. Gritty and had a great lingering scent.

I know cooks in restaurants use a (i think) stainless steel soap bar shaped thing, its supposed to work in sinks too, to get odors out, i believe it is pretty common, u should be able to buy one at walmart or maybe even the dollar store

They can be found in most fishing stores and the fishing departments of big box stores. I think I purchased mine at The Fishing Hole, but I've seen them at Canadian tire.

I don't find that it works particulaly well.

I find the method kitchen lemongrass odor-eliminating hand wash does a pretty good job.

You can always use bleach and then dish soap to get the bleach smell off your hands.

Simple recipe that always used and works every time.
Table salt mixed with some baking soda a little water and scrub your hand for a minute then rinse...all smell gone:biggrin:

gloves would do the trick, as I am sure you know.

However I have heard gasoline and a quick match flick also will take the smell off along with a few layers of skin :)
