I agree. Don't get something you'll be upgrading soon anyways.

The halide fixture definitely sounds like the better option of the two. If you're just getting into the hobby then don't break your bank account setting it up. Good quality LEDs are very pricey, and if you don't want to spend that much money on lighting then halides or T5s are definitely a reasonable option.

What type of corals do you plan to grow? How deep is your tank? If you're not into SPS corals (which are much more challenging) then a T5 fixture might actually be a better option than halides.

Providing the wattage and electricity usage won't be too overwhelming to your electricity bill, go with the MH unit.

Otherwise, find something else. I wouldn't use low quality LEDs on my tank. I don't think you should use them on yours, either. ;)

Low quality LED = pain :)

T5HO or MH or maybe a good LED fixture (expensive!!!)

Provided the Giesemann isn't too old, it is better quality than the Hamilton. Better reflectors. Since you didn't answer my questions and didn't provide power specs for the fixtures, I can't help you out much more.
