Never seen it do THIS before:

And then it expels the milky fluid (toward the upper left):

Haven't heard back from Deb yet... gotta go do a little research.

Ugh, it's doing it again, now the tank is murky.

I'd guess that your guess is spot on. ... Your tank should have a lovely scent to it too after a while (fairly unmistakable ... let's not take it any further than that though, k?).

Those guys got stamina ... it could go on for hours.

I'd run some filter floss, some carbon, and if you have a skimmer -- clean it. And your tank should clear out within a day.

Done and done, thanks. (Speaking of Done, did you watch the Flames/Canucks game tonight?!)

You're right, it's still spewing. Prolific little beggar, ain't it? I'm hoping it's a healthy thing, but more likely a stress-related thing. My lighting upgrade is behind schedule.

Skimmer is working well tho...

I know my ritt spawned once after I had left the tank current off for longer than intended (about an hour and half before I realized what I had forgotten), but, it's hard to say whether that's coincidence or not (not really something I want to try again to test) ... but ... it seems (to me) not that likely that it would spawn because it felt it needed a lighting upgrade? If he looks fine otherwise (when he's not .. ah .. "busy" ) I wouldn't worry about it.

That would explain its restlessness over the last few weeks. Deb called this one a "she" but after seeing how, um, erect the column was in that first pic, I'm going with Male now...

Tank was much clearer this morning, but no good chance for a water change yet - thank God for that skimmer cup drain line, very handy. And yeah, a more distinctive smell too, but not horribly bad. Worst part has got to be that stringy mucus-looking stuff in the collection cup...

Male fer shurr, yup...
