I bought a cleaner shrimp day before yesterday and today morning, after the lights came back on, I noticed that it has already molted and the shrimp looks like doing fine (hanging upside down in its usual spot).

Does this mean that it is properly acclimated to the tank and is happy?

a lot of time shrimp will molt right away when they are moved....we've even had them molt in the bag when being shipped.....they will also molt immediately after a water change sometimes....

all my cleaner shrimps molted shortly after acclimating, i think it is a good thing.

Great :D

And how long will they be vulnerable before growing a new shell?

the new shell is already there when they molt.....its just soft, which is why they are vulnerable...... the "new" shell hardens in a day or so....

Finny little critters! When I was transferring him from the bag to the tank by hand, it was not getting off my hand :P Hand to turkey baster him to leave my hand alone! On day one, it tried jumping and grabbing my clown several times but was futile :P

Mine likes to jump at my tweezers I use in the tank.

It took my cleaner a month or so to molt for the first time... But I think after I started using filtered water he molted that week... Funny how much of a difference it makes
