suncorals are rarely open fulltime , and they require way more feedings as dendros. suncorals response for feedings is also pretty quick.

dendros stay open throughout the day.

if your suncoral doesnt open when food is around it its prob on the way out , they die fast as they need to be fed minimum twice a day. very hard coral to take care of:) good luck if you were closer id take the sun coral for sure :P

they need to be fed they are not photosynthetic so get nothing from lights. drip system or target feedings are required to keep one long term:)

absolutely , dendros can go alot longer without food.

if you feed it reguarily it will grow ive grown mine up to 30-40 heads and ive fragged it several times.

dendros can be trained to stay out all the time:)

my sun coral loves my tank, they like shady areas, not direct light, i never feed mine, i just broadcast feed with my fish food..my nitrates are far from good too.. they sit bout 10-20 ppm

seems to me they usually open 20 min before lights go off and fully bloom after lights are off,, but mine have opened threwout day sometimes

as long as it gets food , doesnt have to large shrimp they filter feed as well on small food particles:) target feeding ensures each polyp eats so better growth:)

I target feed every second day but I'm thinking of moving it to my dt because it'll get more food

i have sun corals, carnations, and sea fans that are open all the time.i usually put in 26 oz of rotifers, and 3 types of phytoplankton daily(2 feedings).sea squirts are also a filter feeder and sponge power will help.in my veggie mix i feed my fish i mix in spiralina which also helps feed them

yes it's live and only fed twice a day.the beauty about feeding live is that it reproduces and gives a constant feed, and doesn't rot in the tank
