Funny my new bulbs should arrive today to coincide with this:

At least it didn't fall apart until we took it out.

Doing 2 6500k Iwasaki and a 10kk Aqualine Bushke in the middle this round. Just put in one Iwasaki for tonite...whoa...quite a switch from the 12kk sunburst..

I had that happen to me once with a 10k. Unfortunately the bulb was over the tank at the time and I fried the acropora that was under the tank (too much UV I suppose). The bulb was only on for maybe 3 hours at the time I noticed something was amiss. The glass that was touching the arc tube had melted into a shape matching the arc tube. Wow, that's hot.

How come you going Iwasaki? I thought you preferred the much bluer look (didn't you just go through a change a couple of months ago?)

...and you're probably going to say that it's the hood's fault.....

Actually, it was the damn door I think Carp... tongue.gif

I remember that Tony, that UV thing is scary.

I just wanted to try something different this time. The thing about bulbs is you always have to replace them soon enough anyway. With the pc's switched to blue it might soften it a bit.

Actually it was 8 months ago Tony, that's about the lifespan of the 12kk.
