Anyone recognize this thing? The polyps retract when touched and the base feels kinda spongy and it is a SLOW grower in my tank. This piece popped up a couple of years ago and is still not much bigger than a half a gummy bear.

I should have looked harder before I posted here. I think it is carnation coral which would explain the slow growth.

Well it is not a carnation coral but an octocoral of some kind, eight polyp feathers. This is a large family that includes gorgonians, some are photosynthetic and some not. Mine has a faint green luminescence that leads me to think it is light lover.
