In the last 2 weeks i've had a huge increase in the amount of aiptasia in my tank, they're all over the sand and rocks.

some were even on the sides of the clams.

I've lost 2 clams now in the last week.

could it be that the aiptasia was stinging the mantle and causing stress for the clam?

It wouldn't surprise me, I lost a snail after it was on a rock that had some aiptasia on it.

I've had them on clams before with no ill effect, so not sure. I suppose it's possible.

Oh no. You think maybe the Cbb nipped the clams

The labouti I sold also jumped. Sorry to here

I got the ccb after the first clam died. I hoped it would eat aptasia fast enough to save the other one

Clams are not affected by aptasia stings, your clams died of another cause.

Had one on my maxima since the day I bought it last March. Tried picking it off several times but it always came back. Finally got the bastard a couple of weeks ago. Never seemed to bother the clam but it was the only aiptasia in my tank and I didn't want it to spread.
