as for the hippo sp. clam... how long have you had it for?
if its been there a while and the snails havent bothered it, personally i would just leave them be... there are so many different species of that type of snail and to my understanding they are specialized feeders, so if they havent harmed any yet, then they shouldnt in the future either.

Hey smokin, the hippo was the one passed around the room at the van meet in Feb 2003. :lol:

I'm not even sure they are snails, cuz he comes out for a scrubby often, since he is the only thing in the tank that grows hair algae....... :mrgreen:
