Well when I was switching my sumps out, I noticed that my mantis shrimp was gone. I emptied everything and still no sign. I figured there would have been at least a shell or something! Any ideas what could have happened to it, seeing as how it was the largest thing in the sump?
Sleep with one eye open...

maybe he's curled up into a hole in your live rock.

There wasn't any live rock where he was, just a tube to hide in.

How long was he in there ?
Maybe he totally dissolved away ?
Are your neighbours missing any pets ?

I think you would see a shell or something if it had died.

She probably digged a hole in the liverock and it is hiding inside the liverock?
At least that's what mine does.
