Hey guys, my buddy just shut down his 90g and gave me his live rock, we washed it down with fresh water and scrubbed off all the unwanted stuff.

I went to the store got a rubber maid container and store bought water fill the container with the live rock and water and have a pump in there pushing the water around. Is this ok I will not be setting up a tank for about 7 months or longer, I am still getting a strong smell of salt water tho when I open the lid, any help will do please.

Thanks

It will live in a wide variety of temps, but 76-82 should be fine. I personally like 78.
