My tank has been 30+ Celsius for the last week and I'd like to purchase a chiller. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have heard that a lot of them are garbage and don't want to waste my money on a ****ty one.

Buck up and get an aqua logic chiller. Best chiller around. I use the titanium drop in one, no plumbing required

Well, ya, they're top of the line, but there are cheaper alternatives :) Finding one used would be good, but aqualogic doesn't come up for sale often. I hardly use mine now, but I'll never part with it :)

Most of the chillers around are reasonably decent units with warranties.

Agreed
I haven't seen any 'junk' chillers around, per se
If you can get yourself through this hot spell, you'd be better to buy one towards x-mas, rather than now

Kinda like buyin' a snow blower when it starts to snow

Try blowing fans across the top of your water, and keep your top up water handy

Good point, thank you. I think I will try a few fans for now. Try to get some of that heat from my metal halides of off it.
