Got to wake up this morning to my girlfriend telling me I should do something with my powerhead as its sucking air.

Once I get downstairs start thinking about things, I realize hmmm that should never happen. Where did the 10 gal. of water go??? Upon further inspection I found that my back glass had cracked from top to bottom.

Good news is I was able to save.pretty much everything in the tank. (Thankfully)

Some days this hobby just makes you pull your hair out :banghead:

Youre lucky you were able to save the inhabitants, I always worry what would happen if I went on vacation, good thing I have friends willing to help!

That sucks! best of luck getting things fixed up. Don't forget to do a RCFA before fixing or replacing the tank.

yuk. I am just getting things packed away into one tank still from when my second attached tank cracked 2 weekends ago.

I guess when i buy a new tank i will need to buy a second one to keep in the garage as a spare heh.

Yup I am happy I have a second 30g tank running to house my smaller corals and a co worker with a120 gal to take my fish and larger corals.

Just happy it happened today as I leave for Costa Rica in 2 days.

That sucks. Sorry to hear.

Do you know what may have caused the crack? I'm paranoid of this as well. Did you stand twist?

RCFA??

Root Cause Failure Analysis. In english, "figure out why it cracked".

Reef goblins. Always the reef goblins. It's the only explanation.
