For a 20g standard, which is better? And why? Want to grow lps, zoos, and some lower light sps. Which one do you recommend. I have the coralife 96w quad now, but may order the odyssea. What do you guys think? The odyssea fixture is $101.98, or a new bulb for my quad lamp is $60. Let me know

The T5s are superior, more efficient in terms of par/watt and they can last significantly longer than PCs. Of course this all depends on the quality of bulbs you use which for the T5s which will probably cost you more but there many more more color options and they do last longer.

There is definatly a lot more color options for the t5s, but I've been reading on other sites that the odyssea 24" isn't an upgrade from the quad cfl. is anyone using a 24" odyssea? Like I said a bulb for the coralife fixture is 60$, and I can't control from actinics to daylights to moonlights with the quad. But I've also heard that the light from odyssea is junk.

The odyssea bulbs are not bad, but I always replace mine with name brand right away. personal choice I guess.

But in my opinion PC's just plain suck. I would always go T5 over PC's. It also gives you more options as far as bulb replacement. You can get numerous different brands, color temps, actinics vs. fiji purples etc.etc.etc. With PC... you can get 1 actinic, 1 50/50 and 1 10K lol.
