Well seems that this isn't something restricted to us alone. This is an FYI only. not a proven cause for the fatalities some have experienced recently. As well, this isn't something the LFS had a hand in so before you go running to them to complain etc. etc. remember.. there are risks to EVERYTHING we buy.

hay marc,
it seems the source may be maximas, but IME it will kill squamosas as well. so far my derasa is alive. didnt have any crocea to start with so i cant tell you how those would be.

Lost my squamosa right after buying it 2 weeks ago. Now I lost my gold maxima. I large blue left (for the moment). I'm trying to figure out how to remove it from the tank for antibiotic treatment.

hey pocillopora,
glad to hear your crocea is doing fine, but have you recently added any clams to your system? thats what we need to know to put your experience into perspective.

As an update, the Derasa that I bought about a month ago is doing fine, and has even shown some growth. My 1 year old Maxima is also looking great.

So far no worries, but I certainly wont be adding any new clams until this thing blows over. Hoping I was lucky to get a healthy Derasa.

Just an update...I got home tonight and my remaining REALLY nice blue maxima is spewing white gunk. Just like my gold one did 12 hours before it died.
I expect that this one will be dead by morning.
