View Full Version : My DIY LED "Fluval Edge" w. Sump

Thought I'd share some pictures of my latest build. Put together my take on the Fluval Edge. The tank sits on my sons desk as if it were stand-alone but overflows are drilled through desk into cabinet below. Personally I think its a better size than the Fluval Edge and get the clean modern look but can still have a sump. The AI Sol sits flush on a glass panel sealed off from the salt but heat-sink still exposed from above. The bamboo wood stand completely encloses the back workings of the overflow etc. Only the intended display portions of the tank are exposed/visible. See Flickr set at link below:

- Approx 10-12gal starfire cube'ish display w. 12 gal sump
- DIY bamboo stand and hood
- AI Sol Super Blue with controller
- LED panel sump lighting
- Rena 600 return pump

- Eco-reefer base rock

- True Perc
- Orange Spot Sand-sifter Goby
- Bi-color Blenny
- Green Clown Goby
- 6 Sexy Shrimp
- Bullseye Pistol Shrimp
- Peppermint Shrimp
- Blue Leg Hermits and Nas. Snails

Coral: TBD

Hope you like it. Let me know what you think.

Nicest nano Ive seen. Looks really sharp. Gunna look even better with corals. I think it would be a really cool species tank too, ie zoas, rics, acans.. just sayin.
