Anyone suggest a good restaurant in Red Deer, quality fine dinning type?
Dragging the wife up there for a fish related purpose, a nice dinner should compensate.

If you like Indian Food - Indian Flame and Pizza in Inglewood is excellent.
For fine dining check out Redstone.

Redstone is very good but not for steak, restauraunt one-eleven is also very good; Both are upscale.
The Rock is ok but I wouldn't call it fine dining... unless of course you consider jello shots in a syringe to be fine dining!
Casa pergola (not sure if I spelled that right) is supposed to have fantastic italian food but I haven't tried it yet.
Cities gastro pub offers a bucket of bacon as an appetizer and has a menu just for beer but the service is only so-so.

Never even heard of it.

Is that a bad thing or good thing
It's in the Sheraton.
Not sure the wife will appreciate jello shots or a bucket of bacon as much as I would so I'm thinking Barbero’s or One 11. Redstone maybe but a good steak would be nice.

The Ranch House on the north end has a killer steak.

I've heard good things about Barberos but have only been once at a Christmas party and thought it was fine.
Ranchhouse at the north end seems to be really hit or miss for me. I've had awesome steaks there and some pretty mediocre ones. Atmosphere is more of a family style steakhouse then an upscale night out with the wife kind of place.

Man Chris it's safe to say we would never run into each other at a restaurant since everyone I have mentioned you shoot up :2gunfire:
How about The Keg Chris? Or the good old Club Cafe? Redstone was ok for me too.

I do enjoy the Keg! Probably the best steak I've had in Red Deer. Never been to club cafe though.
Not trying to shoot everything down , I like the Rock and the Ranchhouse is often good. But... he asked for an upscale dining experience for the wife! Just trying to make sure he finds it!

I don't know about you but jello shots always makes my wife forget why she's ticked at me & makes for a happy evening later :twised:

Why not check out cafe Tiffany's or the rusty pelican if you are into fine dinning those would be two places I would go. I take my wife there on occasion. Both have awesome food and very nice places.

Thanks again, we went with One 11 which worked out well as it reminded us of our favorite restaurant in Saskatoon.

You're from Saskatoon too? Which restaurant are you referring to?

Is that one new? I don't remember it. I left Stoon almost 7 years ago but usually visit at least twice per year. BF and I usually try to get in a date nite when we visit and drop off the little guy with my parents (they live in toontown). We like to try out nice restaurants when we go.

It's actually "The Ivy", not sure why I said Ivory. http://www.ivydiningandlounge.com/ Opened 2006
We also liked the Barking Fish, 2nd Ave Grill and The Granary (all same owner)
