Hi, Guy

I have used Boston Aqua Farms Reef Glue, and that damn thing will get blocked if you don't use it for a while.
Now I want something cheaper, and can be found at HomeDepot(which is closer to me), which one should i buy?
will this work?

I just used this for the first time and really liked the ability to control it coming out.

So these non reef specific glues are safe? they will not leech anything yucky into the water? Do you wait until it dries before putting it into the tank?

Nope its fine everyone uses it :) it dries underwater too just hold it in place for a minute and your good :) no worries haha I use it to glue all my frags into place to attach, never had any problems with it nor can I recall anyone complaining of problems with it :)

Oo maybe Ill have to try it out with my next frags... But its only the gel stuff right? so it stays put when it hits the water... hmmm
Rather then ending up with chunks of ugly pink epoxy all over my rock work....

yeah gel is the one you want, nice thing about it is after a few weeks its covered with algae and you dont even know its there. Epoxy is still good for things like sps, but if you can get them to stick long enough with gel glue, like i do, they just encrust themselves to the rock anyway

any 100% cyanoacrylate glue will work. I use the gorilla superglue at walmart. Loctite will work too

That loctite gel is the best under storage too. It is the first tube or bottle of Super anything that didn't dry up before it was all used which makes it the best value too.

+1 on storage. Lasts for months without gumming up the tip.

Does any of this stuff affect your skimmers? When I've used epoxy in the past my skimmer goes crazy.

Dollarama Thick Super Glue Gel....$1 a tube !!!I've tried quite a few and the adhero dollarama glue is the best IMO....small 2g bottle that wont dry up before you finish it and its only a buck. I buy them by the dozen... :)

As the other member mentioned, cyano acrylate is what makes up super glue gel and is 100% reef safe.

I've tried them all, dollar store super glue gel, loctite and a few others.

The dollar store gel is good for a few small uses, I can get 3-5 frags per tube. however if you are gluing lots of frags you will burn through those little tubes. As for lactate it is abit pricey for how much you actually get....

I now use BRS thick gel, it lasts up to 6 months and I can mount about 60 frags from 1 bottle. $5 per bottle, now that is savings....

To make it last I use a bamboo skewer to apply instead of the nossel because once the nossel dries you lose a bunch of glue.

I have also looked at the larger tubes of superglue gel that are approximately the same size as a silicone tube and refilling my bottles.
