Does anyone know what this is, it has been on my snail for around 3 years. It never leaves moves around slightly and has a long back snout that it uses to reach out and feed on stuff as the snail passes.
Any thoughts

Hard shelled? Does it move much (all over the snail)?

We have a snail with a few of these on him. I always figured they were barnacles, maybe a volcano? I could never figure out for sure o_O would be nice to finally know!

Yes it's a hard shell and yes it moves but not all over. It moves up and down but only about 3 or 4 mm it has a groove that it has warn in to the shell of the snail. It has 2 black antennaes and a long black snout that strech out 2cm and feeds on algae? (Food) as the snail moves around.
