Looking to replace the bearings in a MP40w. Anyone know where to grab bearings here locally, or should I be looking online?

Thanks in advance...

The bearings you need should be available at any hobby shop that deals in RC cars. Try pm hobbycraft up by big als or modelland on 17 ave sw.

The bearings you need are

7mm x 19mm x 6mm

And

8mm x 19mm x 6mm

You need one of each per mp40. Get the rubber shielded ones. They are quieter than the metal shield type.

Good luck.

Perfect, just the information I was googling around for. Think the rubber shielded ones are quieter than the stock ones? I'm hoping for this to be an upgrade rather than a straight swap...

I tried the metal ones cause I had some in my cars spares box. They make a swish noise if they're not oiled often. I'd say the rubber ones made it as quiet as it was when new. I think most of the noise is vibration amplified by the tank glass. That's why I eventually changed to Tunze. No noise!

I hear you. I have two others in great condition, less than a year old each, and I still find them a bit noisier than I'd like - especially since they're two feet from the tv.

I may end up selling them for Tunzes. Just researching the 6105 (not the same look, but certainly more quiet).

You should have looked a bit further down the page and you wouldve seen my thread on this haha. PM Hobby does not have these sizes but check with some of the other comments in my thread.

Size you are looking for is 607 (7x19x6) and 698 (8x19x6). Do not get the ceramic bearings (the ones that end in xxx-2RS) as they are reported to be louder. If your bearings arent too loud, I would suggest you leave it. The eBay bearings I received from a fellow Canreefer were definitely better, but can still be seen as "loud" by some. Good luck!
