I have read a lot about it and browsed many RC threads on the subject. I'm not sure anyone knows if the foam is really inert enough to use in a reef tank. It looks cool but I'm still not entirely convinced. I may try a version of this with only Marco rock and silicone.

I'm not sure if they ever 100% confirmed it was the foam but a Canadian reefer took his tank down because everything "Foamy" was growing so much hair algae that it caused him to tear it all down.

Just keep that in mind...

In researching this myself, a lot of other reefers have stated that the black pond foam is better to use than Great Stuff.

It will resist uv better and you can skip the epoxy coating.

This is what I am trying in a few of my tanks. It is easy to work with. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=993625&highlight=reef+ceramic

Any place that carries pond supplies / pumps / membranes. Home Depot, Burnco, small Greenhouses. I have used it for ponds and waterfalls but not in a tank.
