I am looking for a chiller for my 86 gallon aquarium. Okanagan area or lower mainland as I am going to the coast next week.

First one will do maybe 90g with a 10+ degree drop
Second will probably do a 200g

I'm going to run a 1/10HP on my 75 with a 50 sump and 5 chaeto kicker
I only need it to control about 4-7 degrees in the summer, even if I don't run the A/C

Thanks Greg, PM those guys. Checked out your tank build. You do have patience!! Four months I could not have waited that long. Bought an existing tank, had a crash, thought I might lose all my hair from stress, but things are going great now. You are going to really appreciate the first fish you buy!!!!

You're welcome Glad to help
Ya, the build is very slow. I actually started selling the FW critters in October, so it's been 6 months since I started down this, err, dark road
I've been waiting for the rock to cook, so I just keep puttering and re-arranging ( and spending more on goodies )

Sorry to hear about your crash. Hope it turns around for you.
And for the record, if you can afford it, the Delta chiller is the way to go.
As long as you set the hysterisis correctly it won't cycle too much, will last very long, and will be good for your upgrade ( 'cause we all do it )
Safe trip and Welcome

Hi Greg,
You kind of lost me there. Are you saying that if I use a chiller that my tank will cycle again?? Not sure I follow.

He means the chiller won't cycle on and off constantly - lasting longer

Thanks for the chiller lesson. Don't know all that much about them.

You're welcome
When I first bought a 1/4HP for the now gone 125g, it ran religulously for 35-40 seconds every 4 mins. Not good for the pump.
I changed the hysterisis from the factory setting of 2 degrees to 3.
Then it ran maybe once an hour for about 3-5 mins.
