Fantastic lights and great for SPS...assuming you get enough for your particular set-up. I have a client running 1 on a 90 gallon cube and his tank is looking great. The tank is 24x24x36. What size is your tank?

thanks

I have a 180 (72x24x24) and I run two radions. According to guidelines I should be running three. I don't see the need. With proper coral placement I won't need to drop the extra $800 on a third unit. I actualy don't mind the minimal shadowing that I see in my tank, in fact I kind of prefer it. Just my 2cents.

I totally love my radions and would recommend them to almost anybody but if I were you though I'd wait until the new GHL and Vega come out. That way you can say that you've explored all of your options. Besides you never know if they come with an extra color like burnt siena or tropical green. That could be very important .

In my opinion, 1 is not enough over a 4 foot SPS tank. You might be able to get away with 1 on a 4 foot if you raise it high enough and aquascape your SPS right below it. If you raise it to high you will lose penetration.

With that being said, I would deff. go with 2 for an all out SPS tank.

There might by other opinions, but this is mine.

thanks

Ray

I do not have one. I have been led to beloved they light up a square 24*24. If you have a long skinny tank perhaps its better to look at a 4 foot fixture, might give you more bang for your buck.

With dim's like that, you're going to need 2 for sure. Still cheaper than going to a 4' Vertex. Or have a look at the AI fixtures. Im no expert on them but I think 3 of them at about $399 each might be a better option for you.

I have a Radion on my 30x24x24 and I'm thinking of adding another down the road to allow better "par" towards the edge of the tank.

Don't start another thread . Do a search there has got to be 50+ threads on here and RC for both the AI and Radion.

cool cool cool cool
personally i am biased towards the radions
i really like them plus they kinda remind me of raden from mk
well decisions decisions
if anyone is feeling generous and wants to give away their radions
i called dibs first
any ways thanks for all the info man

I really like my Radion, no question. The vertex has the same fuctionality as the radion, and the have the red mods out now too.

For your tank roughly;

2x Radion = $1700
1x 4' vertex = $2500
3x AI's = $1200

Maybe the new sunbrite fixtures could be an option for you. Only a little more than a single radion and you would get full coverage.
