Hey,

Anyone know what this is? strange thing is that it will disappear into the rock when something swims by it or touches it. It came with a piece of coral that I purchase a while ago. It's tripled in size since.

Center is white, looks as it has a mouth. around that is a pale green and the outter ring is bright green.

looks a lot like a zoanthid to me.....but odd that it reacts to movement

it doesn't look exactly look like the majano's I've seen before but acts like them retracting away and hiding.

It looks like a paly, but the fact that it hides to me says anemone. plays the frills or w/e you want to call them are fairly long.

I have never ever seen a majano anemone that is brightly colored green! I have had it since i've set my tank up. No other have popped up in the tank, and there is no signs of this spreading. I'm not sure if it's because its in a small hole or what. I've noticed that its now too big to retract into the hole now just closes.

Someone has to know.... It doesn't react like a paly or zoa by the way.

Anemone or a Manjao

I have searched for pictures of both and have found nothing that even remotely resembles this.

+1 for monocus. Rock anemone. If my aiptaisa looked like that i would be trying to make them multiply not pulling my hair out trying to get rid of them.

I will 2nd that, tho im not battling any sort of pest problem apart from my wallet always magically emptying and a girlfriend that wants to upgrade to get something "cool, like the leopard eel"
