"it gets to big for my 20g"

...but you still think you should get one?

It's your purchase, but does this seem logical to you? Personally, I never buy anything that I know will outgrow my tank, even if its small at the time. Animals, not accessories.

If you're looking for a sand sifter in that small of a tank I wouldn't go for a diamond goby, even if very tiny they'll grow too fast. If you can find a Hector's or Twin Spot that are eating frozen they would be more suitable.

Why not buy a sandsifting sea star. At least they don't clowd up it water as a diamond goby does.

...no. your right. thats how i felt but the lfs convinced me. my sand needs to be very alive for a star and mine is only 2 months old. i was thinking hector at first but i dunno what changed my mind. thanks for the slap in the head! i need that from time to time.

Diamond gobies are the devil. Huge mounds built and destroyed in hours.
Sand stars snails and conchs would be my choice

I have a Hector's and Rainford goby and they both sift all day long and are pretty small. I would think twice about a twin spot, horrible survival rates, even in pairs though they are one of my favorites.
