will hot water damage a RO membrane?
i know water filters generally have an optimal temperature to operate at, but will hot water actually damage it?

and yeah, the reason i am asking is cuz i just realized i had my RO/DI running with the hot water, instead of the cold...

I believe that hot water will ruin RO membranes.

I did the same thing recently, accidently ran hot water for over an hour and I thought the RO membrane was dead, the TDS reading was very high after the mishap, but after spending some time flushing and about 20 gallons later the membrane is back to normal, lucky me.

Flush? This darn thing uses enough water to flush more down the drain  . I flush once a month. Is that to much time in between?

Cheers,
