Here's a super cheap method, Rubbermaid Tub with float valve, a hole drilled in the bottom with 1/4" poly tube feeding into a 5 gallon pail with kalk with an airline check valve so i don't run kalk into my rubbermaid tub if it's more empty than the kalk. Then gravity fed to the tank with a float valve in there. It'd behind a door, so didn't care how it looked. Works great, only issue i've had is after i moved the Kalk bucket onto the same shelf i have to restart the syphon if i let the rubbermaid tub run empty. I usually leave my RODI on since I have an auto shutoff on it, but recently i've been turning it off since I don't check on it as much as i used to and would hate for there to be an issue one day.

I wasn't running kalk for the first year so had the rubbermaid tub feed straight to the tank's float valve. Now i've been using kalk and loving it, onlt thing i hate is that i add kalk when my PH is already high during the day when i have the most evaporation. I've ordered a solenoid to shut it off during the day and just top off at night, then i should be happy as can be.

Ignore the wires on top of there, i'm changing my temp probe out and left it a mess. As the same with the 3 part pre-mix bottles :P. I really need to do some tank housekeeping....

Stored in a 33 gallon rubbermaid food save container with the float valve fed by kent ro unit with a brs auto shut off valve as the float is not meant to hold more than a few pounds of pressure. I have a 10 gallon tank as my ato tank under the sump which feeds my kalk stirrer. I top up the 10 gallon(well the wife does:redface:) every 2-3 days. I can snap some pictures for you later.

Lol. I went a bit overkill and have 2 x 45 gallon barrels. 1 for the fresh RO and one to do my water change mixing in.

I bought a 35 gallon pail from Johnston Plastics drilled it out and set up my RO/DI unit to fill.

THe second barrel is a good idea, i do water changes in my ATO bucket, so my RO water is never really 0 TDS from the tiny bit of residual salt.

Thanks guys, the problem I am having is to having a big bucket sitting next to the DT, which brothers me a lot.

I like those barrels, but more impressed at the balancing act going on there!

Going to do the same type of set up with the containers in the basement running lines to the tank, one for wc one for ro!

Great thread btw!

5 gallon bucket....... makes me nervous having anything bigger.....if anything with my ATO should malfunction, 5 gallons of fresh water will make little difference to the salinity in my tank and shouldnt overflow the sump.....

Does anyone remember who had the top off tank he covered with a glass top, tablecloth, and a lamp? That setup looked pretty classy and might be your answer.

As i posted earlier i do 2 x 45g drums but i also feed them upstairs to a seperate reservoir which is a 30g brute container, and then i built an oak corner unit to match the stand and hide the brute.
