So.. I ve been doing a bit of research on Leds and I ended up deciding to go with Eshine Leds.

they have right now the newest 4G 48x3Watt Leds.
Its fully dimmable.
sunrise/sunset option

http://www.eshinesystems.com/aqua/4g-48x3w-led-aquarium-light.html

I m going to be getting 3 fixtures, so i need 3 more fixtures in order for the price to drop.

6 fixtures and under is $400/ per fixture, 6 or more is $300/ per fixture

now, they have two different designs as where the Leds sit.

Thanks

What confuses me about that site is:

1) how such a long and narrow fixture can have a uniform PAR spread (circles) in the diagrams

2) the PAR charts for other fixtures appears to be the same? I was looking at a monstrous 150x3W panel and the charts were the same as the 4G?

The more people know the better chance you might have in finding more buyers which is why I'm asking.

I recall dealing with these guys for 3G in the past, for your information check and see if the full 100% power even come close to what the led are rated for.In my opinion its a shame that these arrays are made without giving the proper power to these led.On a second note they could have it more powered but will cost you more.Just my 2ct:biggrin:

This is the Response I got back from them :

The PAR Chart, which depends on the quantity of the led chips, also what kind of LED chips you use. The bridgelux only with PAR value 80-90% of Cree led. So of course, the 150x3W with high PAR value than 48x3w. Our 3g 150x3W only can use Bridgelux led, I recommend you use the Cree led; I do not hope you will be disappointed when you get the bridgelux unit.

here is the response:

Our 3 watt led chips working 2 watt, so 48x3w with full power of 96 watt, can up to 100 watt.

Is Cree led, XPG R5 white and XPE D3 blue, best spectrums of Cree series.

Lens of 30, 60 and 90 degree, which is optional.

The colors are also optional, some special colors need to pay extra.

Lumens: Blue 455nm 20-30 lm/ piece; White 12000K 100-120 lm/piece, which can check in the Cree.com.

The 48x3w with programmable controller, which with function of dimmer and timer, so you do not need to buy timers.

I received 2 eshine 48-3 Cree with controllers for my 72 gal bow front. After trying to work through problems with the controllers, I have mixed feelings about the company.

Peter at eshine was pleasant to deal with until I informed him that one of the lights does not go all the way off. He explained that this is because some people reported what he called "leakage" which I assume he means electrical. Scary. He explained that they now ground their lights differently but this causes the lights to stay slightly on when they are turned off? Half my tank is lit at night while the other half is dark. I could live with this if both were the same but Peter thinks it is acceptable as is.

The second controller had some physical damage to the casing (no biggy) but that unit does go all the way off when I turn it off. He says the difference between the two is because they were built by different individuals?

He blamed the shipper for the damage to the one casing although the box was in perfect condition, and he is not prepared to do anything about the (staying on) problem with the other unit. He actually left me with a "crying" happy face icon at the end of our last discussion.

I am now faced with having to deal with 'service' and will post their response. I knew I was taking a risk in ordering from China but I hoped to write a good review. I saved all the before and after-sale discussions should anyone want to read them.

Bottom line. Love the lights, hate the after-sale service.
