My newly aquired purple firefish has developed clear / transparent white bumps on it.
Does anyone have a clue what they may be?
They do not look like ich as they are smooth and raised and not fuzzy and flat.

It still eats and swims around, but normally the fins are retracted and it hide a fair bit.

There is a bit of a power struggle going on right now, but its just alot of mouth flapping and puffing up, no nipping or striking.

Hard to tell from the images. But you can google for lymphocystis to confirm. If it is lymphocystis, not much you can do but provide a good water quality, no stress and quality food. It will go away given those conditions.

The bumps dont really match the description of lymphocystis.
They look like small clear flatworms, and they only show up on this fish.
No where else that I can see.

oh, and here's my experience with flukes: http://www.canreef.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=494951&postcount=78

Fresh water dunk and Prazi Pro (reef safe).

+1 try prazipro, I've used it in my display tank with no problems. Worked great for me (I didn't do the FW dip as I couldn't catch the fish, he was already in my tank).

Had the same marks on my purple firefish after I first got him and it went away. I fed garlic and selcon soaked food.

Well the "spots" have moved, so its time to prazipro the tank.

I keep a jug on hand for my discus, so thats a nice simple fix.

Bottle sayes 30ml per 200 gallons
Woooh a whopping 1.25ml for this tank...

Just a follow up.

I Prazipro'd the tank, and the next day my purple firefish was very releaved to be free of the flukes.

Eating, Swimming around and interacting with the other fish.
Couldnt ask for a simpler fix.

Thanks for the help!
