Yet another "What Is It?"

Here's another one for you guys to ID. Whatever it is, it doesn't look like something I want...

He's only attached to this one snail that I've noticed.

And since my I can't manage to take a decent photo I've also uploaded a video for you. Sorry about the noisy child in the video, he likes the camera (hence the reason I can't take decent pics after he changed all the settings, lol :)

It's the black thing attached onto the snail. Some kind of worm?

Any ideas would be welcome.

And here I've been resizing all my photos thinking they were going to be obnoxiously large... haha...

The video is much better to get an ID off of, the link is at the bottom of my first post up there ^

I managed to take a much better video.

Also I'm not sure if you can see from this video but this guy is attached inside of the snail's shell. Its created its own shell on top of the snail's shell or it's broken in and cracked and opened the snail's shell to make itself a home.

I could not find a photo on chuck's addiction that looked like it so I'm stumped.

It dosn't *seem* to bother the snail but I could be wrong.

Anyway, here's a link to the better video:

Cool. I can't id it by name but it appears to be some sort of sessile snail living on the other snails shell.

I had one of those. I could not find an ID either, but I didn't think it was any good.
Mine was in a depression that it made in the snail's shell, to perfectly fit its own shell. Seemed like it used an acid to "melt" its way onto the snail's shell. The snails shell did not have a hole in it. Once in a while, this black snout, that is eating off the glass in your video, would take a bite of the snails foot and the snail then scrunched up.
Thats when I decided to get rid of it. Oh my it was difficult. I used a dental pick to pry it off the snail. It was on so tight.

Wow.... weird creatures. I feel bad for this snail. As you can tell from the video, he already has quite a bit of baggage. He's carrying around this parasite worm, a feather duster worm and a filter feeder sponge on his shell. I think I'll do him a favor and give him a good brushing. He was one of my first 10 original clean up crew so it's the least I can do for him since he decided to stick around. Any ideas on how I could remove him with minimal damage to the snail? I don't have a dental pick to work with unfortunately.

If you that concerned just take it out put it on a plate with some sw on it, take out your tweezers an give it a clean

Limpet?

That was the first thing I thought when watching the video as well

I can't find the snail he's on at the moment so he'll live to see another day. He is kind of cool in his own parasitic way I guess. I just wish there was a way to tell if he is doing harm or just hitching a ride.
