Hello all!

I am looking into getting a dose pump setup and am wondering what different mixtures people are making and how to keep the mixtures mixed.

Do the mixtures not separate over time?

As for mixtures, one for alk and one for calcium.

With open ears

Mike

The mixtures tend to say mixed unless you over saturate your mixture. I have never had any of my mixtures precipitate out.

I do the same except 5 gal at a time, I use Dowflake for ca, I mix my chems and let them settle for 24hrs then I siphon off the clear liquid, it stays clear after that with no separation, I also dose mag and strontium the same way

Excellent write up kein. Funny thing is I was reading your thread and I was probably only a page or two away from that page.

I use Randy's formulas. Description of my exact process is in my tank journal (http://www.canreef.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=645219#post645219) thread.

That's because i don't mix or dose magnesium. Sorry, you're on your own there :-)

Is anyone aware of the equivalent amount of baking soda to BRS' Soda Ash?

Baked baking soda is the same thing as their product but I'm sure much cheaper...

soda ash is baked baking soda so I would say it is the same ratio

Yup. Isn't it just missing an extra CO molecule?

Edit: Ok, opps. I think it's missing a Hydrogen atom.
