I had been dreaming of getting one of this fish for a couple years. But with high price and lack of selection locally, I had been waiting, until yesterday. I got my hand on a healthy 4" bandit angel. it's swimming comfortably in my QT currently. I am so excited! Without further delay, here are some pictures and a video of it eating. Did I mention it ate within one hour of being released in QT? Please excuse algae on the tank wall. I like to keep my QT...dirty.

Still in the bag...

Floating the bag for 15 minutes....

Into the QT it goes...

And it's enjoying a good first meal in the temporary home for the next 2 months....

Incredible fish you must be so thrilled. Do you plan to keep the temperature down for it? They live in significantly cooler waters...

Yeah about temperature...I read all I can found about the fish. There are a couple guys on RC that advocate for lower temp for this fish. But I recently read also on RC that another Hawaiian fish, tinker butterfly, lives in almost the same depth as the bandit, and the temp in that region can go from the low 70F in the winter to high 70F in the summer. And the temp doesn't change much with the depth where tinker's are being collected. So I believe that bandit doesn't necessary need a very low temp.
beside, J&L also has a bandit in their display for over 1 year now and they keep their display tank temp at 80F. That bandit is fat and appear to be very healthy.
I don't know...my DT is set at 78F now. I may drop it down to 76F just for the bandit. We will see.
