Few of them were in the top 50 ... only a 1000A$ to join and there are almost 50 of them ! ... a good alliance to back you up will go a long way ... there is a staggered start time setup similar to what we are thinking ... I am leaning that way :cool: :mrgreen:

There is no " feeding " the top guy and they will come to the rescue if you are in need


most of the strategy I used in Beta 5 I got from the Nemo's at RC :wink:

The alliance as a whole has a chance to win the game ( 450 points for only 3 days I believe ) ... easy to setup Trade Agreements


if I think of anything else I will let you know but that alone is good enough for me

being in an alliance gives yout he opportunity to learn as well. We may be better able to really kick come butt in our own allience after being in one ourselves. The nemos are a fairly respected group on Astrowars, it would be a great place to start.

Alliences can also help you expand and increase your level. Often people who are allied will toss small fleets at you and vice versa in order to boost your level.

Actually that is not quite true as depending on how big the alliance the bottom few dont get put into the average.

Welcome aboard though ... I think we can all learn from this alliance in this round and then have a Canreef Alliance in Beta 7 ... what do you all think ?

well I think that it may be a bit early to be thinking abut a CanReef alliance yet, I would hate to do that as you may be looked at as stabing the friends that you make with the nemo's in the back.

We were originally talking about a Canreef Alliance but since nobody here is familiar with how that works it only seemed logical to go in with the Nemos ... doing something different in Beta 7 does not preclude any alliances we make with the Nemos unless you want it that way ... the Nemos had NAP's and TA's with others in the last Beta ... this is a learning experience.

Sorry but I dont see your logic as " stabbing them in the back " ????

Actually with daylight savings time it is 9:40 or thats how I figure it anyway...........start time is 3:40 gmt which is -7 hours to mst time making it 8:40....but we are in daylight savings time which is mdt and that is -6 hours from gmt........Ill be logging in at 9:40.....If I have this figured right I wont be alone.....anybody else in mst got this figured....

I just checked the nemo site and they changed the gmt down to 2:40 which now makes sense.....so local (alberta) log in is around 8:40 if your in this group.

I do have another nemo.. but unfortunately with all that server trouble I only just recent go to send my fleet.. Here is my Race stats.. This was the first time of course I have used the whole race thing.. so I was not possitive on what I should do.. This is what I ended up with.

+15% growth.
-7% culture.
-16% speed.
+15% attack

There is no wrong selection per se ... but ... population gives you growth plus science so maybe add more farms and also make sure that social does not drop so low that population stops growing ... it is hard to pick because you have to give something up and only speed is the obvious one that you can at least launch earlier to work around at the beginning and then focus on with science later. Once you get your player level/SU up you can focus on cybernets to bring your culture back online ... TA's are going to be expensive this round ( A$20,000 ) so we better make sure we select partners carefully but as we know they are awesome !

Trade Agreement = You get a bonus equal to half the player level towards culture / production / Science / population

So if I had a player level 16 and we had a TA then you would get a bonus of + 8% towards all the above :cool:

Well that was a quick round for me! As soon as I signed up I took off on a five day road trip. Bad Timing! Anyways I new I would have limited internet access. I did try to log in a few times but could not? Got back last night and planet undersiege. Incoming ships on the way.

No Nemos in my galaxy.

So should I just stop and resign in?
