one of my blue-green chromis is stuck going backwards around a rock.
moved the tank a week ago all fish were fine after. the chromis wanted to hide in the same hole as my foxface who didn't care for that idea at all and displayed a bit of territorial behavior for a couple of days until the chromis disappeared, for a day or 2. he reappeared yesterday making slow circles around a rock going backwards. any ideas?

Trying to back into a hole? The only time I've seen them swim backwards was at dusk when they backed into corals. Not full time reverse.

Maybe one of your powerheads is running in reverse?
 Sorry, couldn't resist.
I have nothing helpful to add.

Possibably got stung by the Foxface's venom spike's and it's system is trying to fight it off.

I'd buy that reason :)

I have no idea how poisones the Foxface is but it's there main defense, it might not hurt to move it to QT if you have one set up. Don't know what might happen if it dies in your tank and it gets taken care off by your other tank residence.

My Achilles gets stuck by the foxface all the time and never seems bothered by it......of course that might explain his propensity to swim upside down
