How often does everyones pistol shrimp move? I have a shrimp/goby pair, and they are on their 6th house! One day they kept changing the doorway back and forth. Do they ever settle? Or am I in for a long battle of "where are they now?" :p

My pair does the same thing. I love to watch the shrimp plow sand with the goby keeping watch.

It's the same with my pistol and goby pairs. There like a construction crew.
My pistol shrimp uses shells and sometimes shells with live hermit crabs still in them build stuff with sometimes too. It's funny to watch.

I am intrigued, what kind of goby pairs best with a pistol shrimp?

This game becomes less fun when it turns into "where did they bury my $50 frag".

Yes! Lol I already had some GSP go missing, I know it not $50.00, but I still liked it!
I dont know what kinds pair best.... I bought mine as a pair. The store was unable to identify my goby. All I know is that he is from the philipines :)

Do these guys generally leave a small pile in front of the burrow or are the results quite messy? I'm ok with piles but I did see some video where the shimp turns around and paddle-blasts the sand out of the burrow!

I could show you pics of what he has done... This pic isnt a good example! He doesnt throw it far, but he will turn and pile the gravel on top of my live rock. When he moves though, he smooths everything out and closes the door. Then starts over. I think the entertainment is worth the gravel heaps
