Hi, I just bought a used 50G water top of (storage) drum. need to know if it's OK to fill water with bleach and let it seat for a day or two? Will it damage the pump if I put it in to circulates the water? Thank you for any inputs.

I would not use bleach, as plastics can react with it, we only use bleach on glass tanks.

How about vinegar? Will it cleans?

Hot water, 4L of vinegar and a new hard bristle scrub brush, the long handle type should clean it right out.

Cool, thanks for that tip. Does anyone have references/links to substantiate it? A quick search didn't turn up anything other than clorox says it is ok to use on plastic baby toys though that isn't the same as water storage. Maybe only certain types of plastics?
