cd or drawing programs?

i have seen ppl posting tank plans that seemed to be done with animation or cad programs.. my question is what are you ppl using. id like to plan out my upgrade and im finding the new paint program a pain in my hind quarters.

Free trial for Mac,

This is a simple to use application, the menu layouts are clean, initiative and most importantly not computer centric.

Of course there are other options on the market, I personally happen to have used this for a while and enjoy it. :smile:

Another one that i find great is Google Sketchup. It's a free program and super easy to use. Most of the CAD pictures posted on here are from sketchup, that i've noticed anyways.

Yes, Google Sketchup is a common one. I use a 3d modeling package called Solidworks but that's only because I have access to it through my work.

I personally use SolidWorks but unless you have $5K or feel like downloading it illegally it'll be out of your range. Also has a pretty steep learning curve. The easiest to learn and get a hold of is SketchUp.

I think a lot of people are using Google Sketchup, I use Cinema 4D

yeah im trying sketchup i dont need to take a course to learn anything difficult and so far sketchup is doing ok some frustration but all in all it will give the general idea and help with my design

Sketch-up is the best for someone who is not a draftsman already.

(I hate it personally but that is because I am a ACAD & Revit user, and think like a draftsman)

ACAD is good, but it takes quite a bit to learn how to use it properly. That comes from someone that has taught many people to use it, and that was re-teaching ones from college.

I use Blender and Rhino3D. I love Blender and it is Free! I know Rhino but it can be costly if you don't have access.

if i had a drafting tabeid just draw the thing that way i find that easier...
