Hot Glue

Anyone have an idea if the standard hotglue that you'd buy at say canadian tire is toxic? I am going to be using it on the outside of a container to glue in my valve... I just want to make sure that it is going to be alright..

I used hot glue on one of my power heads to glue a fish screen on it and haven't seen or had any adverse effects yet. Its been a month or two now.
