how big of a nano in gallons do you plan on getting. there are a lot of nano brands, edge, fluval, oceanic, biocube, Red Sea Max... etc. i say its up to you for the design of the tank. which ever one you like the most. personal i like cubes for nanos. and i like the ones with chambers in the back of the tank. and i prefer acrylic over glass.

personally for a nano I prefer not to buy a complete setup for LFS. just buy a tank you like, then buy each individual equipment you need, heater, powerhead, lighting skimmer.

I was planning on less than ten gallons. I would prefer shallow and wide it's only to house zoas and maybe two fish max

I thought of just doin up a 10gal tank and buying the extras. But thought I can get a edge with all I need for 100 bucks. Might be worth it.

i think the brand fluval has some nano that are shallow and wide. to be honest a tank that small wont really matter wat brand is better or wat not. just find one you like and a good price for it. your main concern is the equiqment you need to buy after the tank.

A 8-9 gallon would be your best bet, but with that small of a size with zoe and 2 fish, you will be good husbandry to make it work.

Thanks those are great tanks. I had a 100g cube similar to these. Great for refuge. Might just have found my Christmas gift

I like the rimless tanks. Here are some options I was looking at...

ADA 45-F (5g?) or 60-F (9g)
excellent workmanship, low iron glass, Pisces in Calgary just started carrying ADA

Ecoxotic EcoPico (5g)

Concept Aquatics in Calgary makes custom tanks
I went this route and am happy with the results, though it isn't as good as the ADA tanks I've seen pictures of.

Hagen (5g)
black silicone if you like that look

My preference was to look for a glass tank. Acrylic scratches too easily, though the PicO aquariums are really nice. There are several build threads on nano-reef with those tanks.

As for picos/nanos, will this be your only tank? If you have another one running, Just use your old wc water for the nano/pico. I wouldn't worry to much about filtration. Just LR and WC will do it for you. Especially if you want to keep zoos.

The single most important thing on these tanks is the auto top up system. This will make your tank more successful and stable.

The ones called nuvu 8 and nuvu 4 i think are perfect imo for picos.

i personally have a 6 gallon reef octopus tank that is now discontinued, ive never seen yet to this day a better aio tank design then this, its built in Ato and ato fresh water holding tank are simply perfect! and i like rounded front glass! (check out my build thread to see it!)

DEEZNUTZ, ive seen your pico on nano-reef! i love it!
