Got a beautiful blue anemone yesterday and about 3pm this afternoon, I saw with my very own eyes one of my priced sand sifter was too near him and got caught, tried to rescue the poor sifter but he died within less than 5 minutes from the stings.
The sebae clown saw it and carried the body and fed her brown host anemone and within seconds he had a nice dinner... oh well... :  :

Carpet anemones have nasty stings. If you touch it you'll feel how sticky it is, that's it stinging you.

Put it up for sale here, heck, how much do you want for it?

It's only less than 1 week old, so I am not selling cheaper than my LFS price unfortunately.

That's a carpet for ya. I think I lost a CB, flame, and Eibli's when I first started out not figuring out it was my carpet until I saw the remnants of my last angel coming out of it's mouth... YuM.

I hate to say this but did you not read about the carpet before you bought it? it is well documented that they eat the tanks.

To me it hardly seams fair to return something to certain death because you didn't do the research on it. I would say sell it at a discount to a hobbyist that knows its habits and is willing to give it a home and chalk up the small amount of money lost to a learning process.

Yeah Steve.....I think you are right.
I did some readings about it b4 I bought it, but I guess just wasn't enought......sigh.....I feel sorry for my tang......

Okay.....I paid 149.99 plus tax for that big guy (it was only 6" when I got it, now when it fully extends at night, can be around 1' - 0" )

he is eating, healthy, and have very nice fluorescent blue color.

anyone wants to call the price?

I've taken him out of my tank after work today.... rip out half of my tank to take him out without harming him and moved him into the sump. Re-arranged the rock and the fishes seems to be 'happy'.. especially the algea blenny, he is now at the very spot where the carpet was.
Any takers ? $100 too...call me 604-984-8194 ASAP cause he is going back tmr to LFS if no takers. My tank is 175 g...

Btw, I did my reading too and did isolated him in a special corner but fishes are stupid.

Damn I wish I lived in the lower mainland right about now .....

That's too bad. That's really a spectacular carpet .... hope he gets a good home still.
