Light, and low nutrients. More like a lack of feeding.

I'm new to SPS as well. I'm feeding Phytoplankon and Reef Roids

Also, think about Prodibio. Amazing stuff for newbies... Everybody I guess

That's it? Light and fish poop, I got all that to begin with.

Thank you.

Ya, that's it. The only time I ever fed SPS, my NO3 went up, my corals went brown and I spent money on food. Bad things come in three's, I guess :)

What happen if I want to add more sps down the road? I have 120G 2 250W MH and 2 of 96W actinic.

Then add more :) The only issue with more is when they grow, you might need more flow.

Actualy they need low level of phosphates and nitrates to get good color and to grow well but they do grow much faster and better when they are fed. I feed my sps with Zeovit Amino acid, Fauna marin ultra seafan, reefroid, coral frenzy and rotifeast.

Good light is also needed. Many people think they don't need anything but light but the reason why SPS grow better and faster in a mature tank is the amount of zooplankton that is establish, at least according to an article in the Coral Magazine "Is your reef anorexic?".

My SPS grow really fast but I feed a lot of coral food each day and my nitrates and phosphates are undetectible.

Here is the link to the article..hope it works:

I tried feeding with coral frenzy for a few months. Didnt notice any substantial difference.
