Hey Chris,
Its Marc out here in Salmo. I am still going in the hobby I have a 125g salt now with a 55g both on 30g sump.

I bought sum coral glued to a piece of live rock at the store in nelson and I was wondering if it came from your tank ?

I still need lots of equipment for my 125 but its coming along nicely.

I hope your tank is stunning as always!

hope to meet you one day soon.
I wanna buy more coral soon too!

have a nice day
Marc

Hi Marc,

I'd say if you bought coral from B&D in Trail then there would be a good possibility that it came out of my tank.....but not Nelson, I think he was getting his from Golds in Calgary.

What was it?

hey Chris
There was sum xenea ( i melted ) sum brain, a chalice and sum mushrooms. They are doing good
B&D in trail I have never bin there but I hear good things.
I was told the stuff I got came from a guy with a 90 gal but I guess its not you.
do you think I should feed the brain and chalice at night or ...?
Marc

Well......I if you do feed your LPS, I'd do it at night....but not very often.....for the most part fish poop should be enough. I only target feed mine once every 2 weeks or so.

Hey guys just thought i would introduce myself. I live in nelson and have been reef keeping for quite a few years. At the moment i am between tanks until i can get my basement finshed as we just moved into a new house. I do have a small tank i have been thinking about setting up as an sps nano. I didnt think there was many of us in the west kootenays so its good to see there are a few.

Glad to hear that there is still a few of us around

I've contemplated doing a nano my self.....would be kind neat to have a little piece of the ocean on my desk.

After you basement is done what do you plan on setting up?

i bet it looks great  what do you use to maintain your calcium and alk. My last tank i used a calcium reactor worked great. with the smaller tank i think i will be using b-ionic 2 part...save the reactor for the big one

Currently I'm dosing 2 part 120ml's per day by hand....but I'm seriously looking into a dosing pump.... threw the summer months we camp alot, darn near every week end......so needless to say I spend all week trying to play catch up

Just have to get it by the Miss's and well.....if I can squeek it buy her I'd like to get my hands on MP40es as well....but I'm sorta thinking I might be sleeping on the couch if I tried for both at the same time

hahaha i definatley hear you on that. Thats the problem with this hobby... it always seems like there is somthing else to buy. i am also looking into the mp10 for the nano, might be a little overkill for a small tank but my experience with sps, they love flow. the mp40 should be an awesome addition to your tank.

Hi, I'm in Creston, I moved here from Calgary. In that, I had to sell my 180 reef tank. But I kept all my sand and rock (all dead now).

I've been looking everywhere (even Petco) for a new tank to start. I've decided to go back to Bow Valley Aquariums in Calgary. I can get a drilled 250, with an 80 gall sump, and metal stand for 1200... and that includes shipping! To Creston!

So, you know, just checking out where to get started with supplies, and, well, I'm so close to Cour de lane, ID, I'm thinking of starting there. Its all about salt. I'm going to start out cheap while I wait forEVER for the tank to cycle. But my fave is "Saline" by SEACHEM.

Anyways, is anyone around here selling anything... I might be interested in a couple months....

That would be amazing if peppie started selling some frags and possibly fish. Would be very nice to have someone local to pick up some livestock. Definitely let us know if and when this happens

In castlegar, he's going to run it as a side business out of his hair salon "Peppi's hot hair"

If you think about it....it's actually a great idea....as LFS's in our area usually fail do to not enough reefers supporting them

Cool it will be the third store in catelgar but the other two have very little salt water stuff. we really need a saltwater store a true fish shop!
Well I am looking forward to it and I need a hair cut.
Maybe he will offer a free hair cut with all coral purchase over 150$ LOL
