I tested kh/cal/ph today
Ph= 8.4
kh=210
mag=1560
I know this is high but am not sure of affects. I only have a few Sps and have notices that the tips are white but are growing quite fast
Just wondering if I should water change to bring kh and mag down or leave it and let it dissipate.

are you dosing? if so I would stop and let it disappate
are u using H2Ocean salt? H2Ocean salt needs to be mixed prior to using because the different components seperate during shipping causing erratic levels when mixed

Salt that I'm using is red sea coral pro. But there could have been some Kent coral builder in my bbl. Prior to mixing. I'll watch it for amweek and see what happens

210 KH = 11.76 DKH which is okay if you are running your system without probiotic. mag is a bit high but that shouldn't be that much of a concern. If your sps are growing then I wouldn't worry about too much.

I did just start a regiment of bioptim last week. Are there any adverse affects of this product and a higher dkh

IME when using any probiotic system, if the alk creeps above 10 dkh depends on what your other parameters are sitting at , it might cause alk burn. If your other parameters are out of whack it will cause even more problems like stn or rtn. Once one colony starts to rtn it is likely that it will create a snowball effect and take out rest of the sps. Also make sure your potassium is in line as the probiotic system stripes it out of the water at a fairly rapid rate.
If I would you I would get your alk back down to about 7-8ish and go from there.

white tips often equal alkalinity burn. I keep mine at 7 with a dosing pump. It avoid alkalinity swing and overdosing.
