I found this link on RC for some German Tanks.
http://www.korallen-zucht.de/farben.html
Click "KUNDENBECKEN" on the left menu.
All I can say is WOW...

Check the video from the 3000-liter tank - yikes. Play "count the tangs" if you can...
That's one large reef wall. Interesting to see 1000W bulbs in use...

Yes those Europeans are light years ahead of us. Oh...and they do like their SPS.

Nice find there Trevor!
I went to Hamburg a few years back and everyone had those ultra slim, sleek looking lights. I 'm kinda surprised there still in use over there, like saltcreep said- those Europeans are so far ahead of use.
I think I shall call my cousin and ask him if he can ship me some goodies
Trevor-I'll be out your way this weekend so I'll give you a call

The last time I was in Europe, I visited some aquarium stores in both Berlin and Munich...amazing places. There appeared to be a "better" selection of both hardware and livestock, but with that selection came some fairly high prices. The norm for lighting was the "all-in-one aerodynamic" lighting hood, usually suspended from the ceiling. I don't recall seeing any DSB's...
I will be moving to Europe for a couple of years sometime down the road...it will be interesting to set up a reef tank over there taking advantage of that selection.
Cheers.

I just noticed after looking at a couple of the German tanks, they use a crushed coral bottom. Wonder why
