If it is 1/2"+Glass i would go black. A thick bead of clear doens't look good/clean well in my opinion.

I just ordered a new tank and it's black all the way. Way more classy IMO

I used to think the same thing. After buying my current tank used which has clear I chose to build my new tank also out of clear. If you keep things clean I think it creates a more seamless illusion of ocean. I sorta find the black distracting now when I see it.

No right answer here, but I prefer black as you won't see the algae and junk that builds up on the clear silicone, always looks dirty.

I personally like black, my 165 is clear and I have to clean the silicone way to often for my liking. My 116 is black, I really like the look of it.

I randomly went black with my new tank, and I'm very glad that I did. I vote black.
