Very cool!!! That's a huge spawn. Such a beautiful pond you have any updated "fps" (full pond shots). Never get tired of looking at your pics. Best of luck with the eggs you pulled!

yes :-) Here ya go !

Our eggs hatched ! As usual most of the fry in the pond have been eaten but this year we did grab a bunch to put in a hatchery where there are no predators. We'll see how far these guys get.

Did a 50% water change, turned on the waterfall and cleaned debris (leaves, pine cones, etc) out of the pond.

Awesome Kien. At least you have no snow around your pond. I still have a ton of snow. Can't wait for the buds to start on AL the plants and the lilies to come up.

I need to turn on our filters this weekend and do a water change and repot some overgrown water plants.

My pond doesn't have anything remotely resembling that contraption. You must be thinking of someone else's pond? :-)

How do they survive? How do they eat when it's frozen?

I woke up the pond this week. Although, it probably woke itself up a few weeks ago; Thanks global warming !! Did a 50% water change and started to feed the fish pre-season/spring food (Wheat Germ). The filter and water feature aren't online yet, that's this weekend's chore. It looks as though quite a few babies made it from last year. I have tiny little koi/comets swimming around this spring. Sadly there are way too many so I will have to cull them.

A visit from a cormorant would solve your problem..

Got one lying around?

It doesn't work like that sadly. They just magically appear and your fish disappear.

However I have another solution for you Kien, open your own urban fishing place:

Spring feeding.

Can't you sell the excess babies to a LFS ?

If not, what about freezing them and making some fish food mash/cubes ?
After all, you're the guy I learned from to make my own SW food
