I have had a Beta for 10+ years. It is a beautiful and hearty fish. That said I purchased it first and it became a bold feeder before I added more aggressive fish. I will try to target feed him and get him enough food so my large wrasse does not steal all of it.
That being said I wouldn't recommend one in your situation.
I hope that helps.

i have one in my tank with wrasses.angels,2 large banners, chromises, etc.it is doing fine and seems to always get enough to eat-at least it is pleasantly plump and getting more braver at feeding times

Mine takes his time homing in on a chunk of food I throw in a frozen chunk and most fish eat little bits falling off then the beta comes in and gulps the whole thing down. Might be fine as long as your triggers don't do the same.Feed lots one feeding everyone gets some.
