Hey guys,

I'm in the process of setting up a 20H system, with a fairly large sump... I need 30 gallons of water to get started. I live in an apartment, and a fixed RO/DI unit is a little out of my range right now... I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a source of decent water in the area?

I know oceanic corals sell pre-mixed salt water, and that's one option I'm considering, but I live in Vancouver proper and would prefer something a little closer if possible.

Thoughts?

If you really want RO/DI you don't have to hard wire your unit. I ran mine on the counter top for about a year. Just tucked it underneath when I wasn't using it.

Vancouver's water is pretty good and you could probably get away with just a DI unit http://www.jlaquatics.com/product/ro-aptwp/Aquarium+Pharmaceuticals+Tap+Water+Filter.html

I have one you could have $10 (probably needs new resin). Used it for a year and was happy with it.

Thanks for the offers, guys. PM'd ya both.

Just out of curiosity... Does anyone have a source for the water quality of Vancouver water, re: dissolved solids and trace element content. I'm not from Vancouver originally, and back home I know that the water treatment board posted the water quality parameters on the web.
