Hi there,

I was hoping someone in Red Deer would be willing to spare a handful of Chaeto from their refugium.

I was also curious if anyone would be willing to swing by my place and do some light testing on my LED t5 combo light. I'm starting to wonder how my light levels are dispersed across the tank.

Thanks

I think we should buy a par meter Chris and then rent it out, I would like to check out my lighting as well.

Going to have to get together soon I am having issues with my controller.

Yeah, it'd be nice if a store had them available for rent. It's a lot of money to spend to tinker with your tank for a weekend.

I know the Par meter might be stretching it, but somebody's gotta have some Chaeto!

Another bump hoping someone's got some chaeto in the red deer area?

I had to get mine from RC in Calgary but it has not grown at all or I would give you some. If I get to RC on Friday I will see if I can get you some. I think I need a better light on my refugium.

What kind of light do you have on there Greg? I've grown Chaeto in the past with a 12 watt CF light.

Are you still running pellets? that might be sucking up all the nutrients that your chaeto should be getting.

I have a T8 fixture with a plant grow light. I am running Vertex Bio Pellets in the camber after my cheato. It hasn't grown but it also hasn't shrunk either, lots of little stars & pods in it.

Hmmm, I'd bet money then that it's the pellets taking the nutrients up before the Chaeto gets them.

More then likely your right but with both cheato & pellets my bad nitrate's & such are non existent
