I am looking for a tree lamp or hanging arm or whatever this thing is called. This would be attached to the back of the stand and the light fixture is hung on it.
Does anybody know where I can get one of these locally or if somebody is open to making one in exchange for some awesome Rics then get in touch. I should mention that I would pay for the materials if somebody was willing to make it. The rics would be in exchange for your labour.

A good welder could whip these up in a jiffy, if we where closer together I would do it for some ric's  good luck on your search

I agree with Grizz, find yourself a fab shop and see what they can do for you. I made a similar design to the above only I used 1 1/4 x.100 wall HSS and 1 1/2" HSS slid over that for adjustment.

I guess I can look into it and perhaps they could do something like this......

Would this idea work for a 5 footer? I like it!

Here are a few pics of mine, nothing complex but it works very well, and very strong.

That looks great. Did you build that yourself?

they had a DIY article on how to make one in Advanced Aquarist Magazine. I forget what issue though.

Cheers,

Thanks for the heads up. This Solana is turning out to be a pain in the b***tt. Lighting options are not many. It seems that this tank was design for a pendant, Sunpod or NEP fixture and that's it. At the end it might just be easier to go for a 21g rimless Hagen tank and use Aquactinics on it but then I would wonder if this would be too much light for a tank that's 24"L x 14"W x 16"H.......switching tanks is becoming a real PITA

Wow, thanks a lot for that DIY article. It's awesome and it explains step by step how to make a tree lamp. Do you guys think that I could hang the fixture using one arm or two? I like the idea of using just one because it looks cleaner.
